Many of our clients in the financial sector face a similar challenge: maintaining secure and efficient operations without losing agility. In this project, our client was a major bank that needed to modernize its technology infrastructure to strengthen code management, optimize software development, and ensure more secure administration of its environments.

The coexistence of three source code management platforms (GitLab, Azure DevOps, and Harvest) created a high administrative burden, required manual processes for user onboarding and offboarding, and limited the ability to establish unified technology governance. Additionally, the simultaneous use of Jenkins and Azure Pipelines for CI/CD increased complexity and caused obsolescence in the configurations.

Our Solution: Migrating to GitHub Enterprise Cloud

CleverIT led a transformation process, using GitHub Enterprise Cloud as the tool to consolidate code management and enhance security.

During the initial phase, we conducted an assessment to identify critical pain points and designed a backlog of improvements to strengthen CI/CD processes, standardize security policies, and optimize user management through integration with Microsoft Entra ID.

The project included the mass migration of repositories from GitLab, Azure DevOps, and Harvest to GitHub, using tools developed by CleverIT that automated the process with custom Bash and Python workflows. In addition, 15 existing pipelines —6 from Jenkins and 9 from Azure DevOps— were migrated to GitHub Actions, centralizing automation in a single, modern, and scalable platform.

Ultimately, the migration enabled the bank to centralize, standardize, and scale its technology operations, enhancing its ability to respond to market demands with greater agility.
