Our client, a key government institution in Peru, faced major challenges in managing repositories and pipelines. Its current infrastructure had certain limitations that directly impacted the efficiency and security of its development processes.

The need was clear. A new tool was needed to offer a solution to their main problems: compilation times that were too slow, security fragmented into multiple tools, and manual artifact management that had become tedious and complex.

An innovative and strategic proposal

As a leading partner in Latin America and specialists in GitHub, CleverIT designed and implemented a Proof of Concept to overcome customer obstacles, focusing on the GitHub migration and CI/CD optimization. This covered:

• Repository migration: Import the code to GitHub using a template repository to standardize the structure and configurations.  
• CI/CD automation: Implement GitHub Actions workflows for build, test, packaging and deployment in Java and .NET, with dependency and artifact caching to accelerate processes.
• Integrated security: Enable GitHub Advanced Security and Trivy in pipelines for code and container vulnerability analysis.
• Composite Actions and branch protection: Create reusable actions and branch protection rules to ensure code integrity and quality.

The journey was not without challenges, but the experience of CleverIt and GitHub technology allowed us to overcome them successfully, demonstrating the adaptability and robustness of GitHub even in complex scenarios typical of a government entity.

Our team took an approach of intensive client sessions, each dedicated to a specific functional block of the organization. This allowed them to learn step by step about the benefits of GitHub and its different solutions.
