Our client, a leading banking institution in Chile, faced the challenge of migrating their ticket workflow from JIRA to Azure DevOps, seeking a more modern, standardized platform that could better fit their operational needs.
The prolonged use of JIRA had resulted in inconsistent ticket structures, non-standardized workflows, and occasional data loss during certain actions. In addition, user resistance to change and the difficulty of precisely defining the ideal workflow led to delays and high administrative overhead in task tracking.
CleverIT designed a smooth transition process to Azure DevOps, ensuring full traceability and preserving the structure of the original tickets.
The project began with a discovery and assessment phase, where the current JIRA operations were analyzed—mapping teams, backlogs, and sprints to replicate existing workflows in ADO. Then, the CleverIT team developed a custom migration tool based on JIRA API interactions, capable of extracting and transferring artifacts, comments, and configurations without data loss.
The migration was executed in waves, combining dry runs, user training sessions, and functional validations. In parallel, an internal communication plan was implemented to guide technical and operational teams through the adoption process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience during the transition.
